Agricultural products account for 21% of movement in Brazilian ports

Field work to collect information on the 2020 coffee harvest and also the 2021 coffee harvest is underway in Bahia. The data collected by technicians from the National Supply Company (Conab) in the state will be processed and will be part of the national coffee harvest bulletins, published and disseminated by the Company on December 17th and January 21st, 2021.
The research continues until December 4th, investigating the coffee growing areas in the coastal region and on the plateau of the state. The first region visited comprises the Baixo Sul, the South and the Extreme South of Bahia, where conilon coffee is grown, and the second comprises the regions of Chapada Diamantina and Planalto da Conquista, where Arabica coffee is grown.
Bahia is the only coffee producing state in the northeast region of Brazil and the fourth largest national producer, behind only Minas Gerais, Espírito and São Paulo, respectively. According to the latest bulletin released by Conab, the estimated production in the state for this harvest is 4,1 million bags of processed coffee, exceeding the last harvest by 37,9%.
