The Cerrado Fair 2025, organized by the Regional Coffee Growers' Cooperative in Guaxupé, received more than 4,5 coffee and grain producers, as well as visitors, on February 05th and 06th, at the Cooxupé center, in Monte Carmelo/MG.

In the 10th edition of the fair, the producer prioritized business in shorter terms, considering the years 2025 and 2026. The exchange in coffee, that is, Barter operation, was the model most practiced by the coffee grower to close his negotiations.

“Our members made quick decisions, especially when purchasing machinery and implements, because they understood the manufacturers’ extended delivery times due to the high production demands stimulated by the current scenario of high coffee prices. However, the industries maintain the same production potential. The producer quickly understood this scenario and guaranteed the purchase of technologies with payment in a timely manner that meets his needs. Another factor that encouraged this behavior is that our members are aware of the interest rates, and are not interested in negotiating in the long term,” explained José Eduardo Santos Junior, Cooxupé’s Member Development Superintendent.

For the coffee cooperative’s associated producer, Nei Eurípedes Monte, a member of Monte Carmelo, the fair was very important. “We found new opportunities to acquire implements and other products for our daily lives on our property that will add value to our coffee activity,” he said.

Coffee grower Maurício Vieira dos Santos, a cooperative member from Patrocínio, highlighted the opportunities provided by the Cerrado Fair. “This event always presents new technologies and here I see many machines that I didn’t know about before,” he said.

The Cerrado Fair brought together 65 exhibitors and emphasized the theme “Agriculture and climate change: resilience and opportunities” with expectations exceeded.

“We close this tenth edition celebrating the success of the Cerrado Fair, the active participation of the cooperative producer in this area of operation of the cooperative, the commitment of the manufacturers present here and the dedication of our employees who spare no effort to ensure that our coffee growers find excellent business conditions and bring to their properties inputs, implements and machinery that allow for cost reduction and increase productivity with sustainability”, concluded the president of Cooxupé, Carlos Augusto Rodrigues de Melo.
