The National Congress of Women in Agribusiness (CNMA), held on October 23 and 24 at the Transamérica Expo Center in São Paulo (SP), concluded its 9th edition, which had as its theme 'Brazilian Agro Women: Voice for the World', reaching the mark of more than 3.000 congress participants from all Brazilian states, including the Federal District. This number positions the CNMA as the largest global congress dedicated to women in agribusiness, which this year had the participation of 53 sponsoring and exhibiting companies and 86 speakers at the Master Arena, the Knowledge Arenas and the Technical Hub, addressing topics such as market, business, female leadership, innovation, sustainability, entrepreneurship, among others.
According to the Development and New Business Manager at Transamerica Expo Center and responsible for organizing the CNMA, Renata Camargo, this edition reinforced the power that women's voices have in all sectors and showed how it can be heard around the world. “For women to occupy all their leadership and protagonism spaces, it is essential that each one believes that unity, connection and female engagement can promote great progress, making the female voice increasingly heard in Brazil and around the world. This edition of the congress was essential to create and reinforce, in each participant, the awareness of the importance and strength that their own voice carries”, she emphasized.
For CNMA content curator José Luiz Tejon, Brazil needs to engage more with the world and women are key contributors to this. “Women in Brazilian agriculture need to speak to the world through their empathy in order to reach the brain through the heart,” he emphasized.
The opening round table, with the theme of the congress, was moderated by the FAO Special Ambassador for Cooperatives, Roberto Rodrigues; the lecture 'Voice to the world: 265 new markets open!', presented by the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro; and the round table on 'Brazilian Science that Changes the World', moderated by the Director of People, Services and Finance at Embrapa, Selma Beltrão.
'Brazilian cooperatives that sell to the world' was the theme of the round table moderated by the General Manager of the Organization of Brazilian Cooperatives (OCB), Fabíola Motta; the international lecture on 'The world's energy and environmental food insecurity and Brazil's role', given by scientist Rattan Lal (Nobel Peace Prize and World Food Prize 2020); and the panel 'Doubling the size of agriculture: Brazil's mission to the world', moderated by sociologist and livestock farmer, Teresa Vendramini.
In 2025, the National Congress of Women in Agribusiness will be 10 years old and the director of Transamerica Expo Center, Alexandre Marcilio, revealed that the theme of the 10th edition, which will take place on October 22nd and 23rd, will be 'CNMA 10 + 10 - 2025/2035 - Women who change the world for the better', focusing on preparing for the next decade, with an “explosion” of environmental, energy, food and technological awareness.
According to Marcílio, there will be an integration between fields, seas, waters, industry, commerce, services, marketing and education, aiming to consolidate the advances of the last 10 years and project an even more innovative and sustainable future.
“We will have five stages with relevant and inspiring content: the Master Agromundo Arena and the Knowledge Arenas: Agro is Theirs, Agro Doesn’t Stop, Dona do Agro Todo and Força do Agro. There will be five tracks: Future, Animal Protein, Plant Health, ILPF and Agroindustry. In addition, there will be the second edition of the reality show 'Prato Brasil', the 'Casa Mulher do Agro' and the return of the panel 'Minha Voz no Agro'. We will also have 'Todas – Conectando Mulheres', a meeting point where groups, centers and women's movements from the various sectors of our ecosystem will come together to strengthen and give voice to women in agriculture, in addition to launching the campaign 'Be part of this Movement, you in the opening video of CNMA 2025'”, revealed Alexandre Marcilio.
