CNH Industrial is involved in actions that aim to contribute to mitigating the impact of the new Coronavirus (Covid-19) in South America. The ongoing measures include the donation of masks, personal protective equipment (PPE) for hospital units, and basic food baskets and meals for public hospitals, nursing homes and truck drivers and the provision of energy generators for governments in Brazil and Argentina.

“We are experiencing an unprecedented global crisis, which has overwhelmed the healthcare system and directly impacted all other sectors. We continue working to ensure the safety of our employees and business continuity, considered essential for society, focusing our attention on our resellers and customers”, says Vilmar Fistarol, president of CNH Industrial for South America.

“But the moment calls for unity, understanding and solidarity on the part of everyone, companies and citizens. As a company, we have a social responsibility amid the pandemic and we will contribute to the communities where we operate”, he adds.

More than 20 thousand masks and protective glasses were sent to Servas, Hospital Regional de Contagem and Fundação Hospitalar São Francisco de Assis, Hospital Nossa Senhora das Graças de Sete Lagoas and Hospital Municipal de Sete Lagoas (MG); for the Regional Hospital Complex of Sorocaba, Irmandade Santa Casa de Sorocaba and Piracicaba and Hospital dos Suppliers da Cana de Piracicaba (SP); and the State Department of Health of Paraná (PR).

In addition, CNH Industrial is donating basic food baskets to Pastoral de Sorocaba and meals to public hospitals and nursing homes in Contagem, Sete Lagoas and for truck drivers. The company also made some trucks available to help associations and entities with the logistics of transporting important materials at this time.

The company is also participating in initiatives that aim to expand the production of respirators for hospitals in Córdoba, Argentina. And four energy generators are being made available to health units, three in Argentina and one in Brazil.

Together with partner social NGOs in Brazil, the company has been monitoring the isolation of children and elderly people in care, promoting joint online actions to raise awareness about Covid-19 prevention.

This is not an isolated initiative. In each region of the world, the company promotes different actions based on the diagnosis of local needs and reality, which includes medium and long-term projects, as well as emergency actions and solidarity engagement. Other support measures are under constant study by CNH Industrial.

“We understand that we have a social function and a co-responsibility for the development of the regions where we are present. And there is no way to talk about the future without guaranteeing something as basic and fundamental as health. This is the greatest need for society as a whole right now”, explains Erika Michalick, Sustainability Manager at CNH Industrial for South America.

CNH Industrial created an internal executive committee to discuss all care, strategies and opportunities for cooperation and support in combating the pandemic, both internally, for employees, and externally, for society. This committee analyzes a series of issues, always in line with the guidelines of the responsible authorities.

Parts and services

CNH Industrial also reinforces that it is prepared, together with its dealer networks, to continue meeting the demands of its customers with parts and services necessary in the agricultural, transport and construction areas, thus ensuring the continuity of activities in these sectors essential to society .

The company has taken measures to protect and safety its employees in all sectors, and hopes that this situation will return to normal as soon as possible.
