Applying the concepts of innovation, servitization and sustainability in practice, AGXTEND expands the portfolio of products and services of the group's agricultural brands
CNH Industrial launched today (06/10), in Brazil, AGXTEND, a solutions platform for digital agriculture. Based on the pillars of innovation, servitization and sustainability, the company brings solutions for all stages of the cultivation cycle for all sizes and profiles of farmers. The Company brought together solutions from several companies and startups in the market to make up AGXTEND's ecosystem of initial solutions. In this way, it incubates projects that later gain scale within its range of products and services.
With this format, AGXTEND offers digital, connected and intelligent products and services, which complement the portfolio of agricultural brands Case IH and New Holland Agriculture.
In addition to CNH Industrial itself, six partners, including national and international companies, developed technologies for the platform's initial portfolio. They are: Zasso, Raven, Bosch, Agrosystem, Cropmam and BemAgro. The ten solutions being introduced to the market include applications, components and services.
The director of Digital Technologies at CNH Industrial for Latin America, Gregory Riordan, explains that AGXTEND represents a new concept in the field by offering, in addition to innovative and disruptive technologies, new business models for digital agriculture. The platform makes it possible to acquire solutions in a service format, such as the Xpower solution, from Zasso, a Brazilian company in which CNH Industrial has a minority stake. XPOWER is equipment that removes weeds using electric shock. As it does not use pesticides, it preserves the soil and is twenty times faster than other methods of eliminating unwanted plants.
“This is a solution that illustrates the three concepts of AGXTEND – innovation, servitization and sustainability. In this example, the producer does not need to purchase the equipment, he can subscribe to the service per hour or per hectare of use”, reveals Riordan. “Similarly, we have monitoring and management solutions based on drone images, as well as soil diagnosis, in which the customer pays for the service provided and not for the equipment. This is also an accessibility factor as highly technological solutions become viable for all sizes of producers via service modality”, he assesses.
“The AGXTEND portfolio is aimed at those who want access to innovative solutions that deliver economic results in a more sustainable way, through products and services that increase productivity and operational efficiency, regardless of the size of the property or production volume”, says Adriano Becker , Digital Product Manager at CNH Industrial in Latin America.
OPERE+ is a free application for managing and monitoring agricultural operations. “It is the first application that democratizes digital agriculture for small producers. It offers information free of charge, simply, without the need for a physical interface with the machine. The application makes use of sensors already present on the producer's smartphone to monitor and inform the behavior of the agricultural operation and can work completely offline when there is no connectivity”, says Becker.
AGXTEND technologies are now available at certified New Holland Agriculture and Case IH dealers throughout Brazil along with PLM (Precision Land Management) and AFS (Advanced Farming System) solutions.
Service package developed in partnership with Cropmam, uses a set of high-efficiency and precision data processing hardware and software to carry out a complete diagnosis of the soil, delivering a map of management and compaction zones. These maps allow localized control of soil compaction through DEPTHXCONTROL, as well as precise application of inputs. This guarantees more assertiveness, savings on inputs and operations, as well as more sustainable production potential.
In partnership with the company Cropman, this solution delivers automated depth control to decompact the soil at the location and depth recommended by SOILXPLORER. It can also be used to control the depth of certain implements when planting crops such as sugar cane. In addition to delivering more efficient and optimized soil preparation, it allows for uniform planting, ensuring better root development to make use of nutrients in the soil.
Developed by Raven, it is a sensor on the implement that provides real-time instructions in the machine cabin for the operator to maintain the target depth throughout the operation. This allows subsoiling and planting activities to have more precise depth control, ensuring more uniform development of sugar cane and reducing the impact of ratoons during harvest.
Intelligent planting solution developed by Bosch that ensures even distribution of seeds. It allows individual cutting and rate control of various doser models on the market, using a motor installed in each planter line. This way, each seed is allocated the correct spacing, even on curves, eliminating overlap or planting failures.
Technology developed by Raven optimizes the spraying experience. It has a nozzle-to-nozzle control system that adjusts pressure and flow, allowing precise application in the most diverse conditions. It also has technology that monitors and controls boom height, a direct injection system, fully integrated autopilot and a solution that allows communication between machines, ensuring synchronization and maximum efficiency in all sprayers working in the same area.
The solution promotes the removal of unwanted plants through electric weeding. Developed in partnership with Zasso, it is sustainable as it eliminates the need to apply chemicals, which reduces the risk to the plantation's underground life. XPOWER is up to twenty times faster than other weed removal methods. It can be used on any crop, is certified for use on organic crops and controls plants resistant to other weeding methods.
Developed by Agrosystem, it enables more assertive decision-making in various agricultural operations that depend on weather conditions. Meteorological data monitoring is done directly by smartphone, which collects information from sensors spread across the fields. It has three configurations: weather stations, rain gauges or rain sensors, and soil moisture sensors. The system is plug-and-play and runs 100% on solar energy.
This is a range of services based on drone images, satellites and machinery vectors that assist in planning, monitoring and managing crops, from soil preparation to harvest. Reports such as altimetry, plant population and matology allow for quick and assertive decisions in various operations throughout the cultivation cycle. As the farmer only pays for the hectares of service he hires, without the need to purchase any equipment, it is an ideal solution for all sizes of producers.
With an innovative way of transmitting the signal, through mobile internet, this solution developed by CNH Industrial provides high precision and correction of the GNSS signal, with low investment and a fast, stable and secure connection. It guarantees results regardless of topography, works in any location with connectivity, even if the machines are far from the bases that make up the network. It allows simultaneous topographic and agricultural use, as well as the use of the signal by different brands of machines and operations.
It is a free application from CNH Industrial that provides useful information on the operation and performance of machines directly in the palm of your hand. With just a few taps on the smartphone screen, the farmer can start the operation and have real-time instructions on how to improve the operation, even in areas where there is no internet. It is accessible to all producers, democratizing access to digital agriculture solutions.
