The Campo Futuro Project raised the costs of sugarcane production in Goiatuba and Quirinópolis, in Goiás. The panels took place on Monday (19/09) in person.
CNA's technical advisor, Danyella Bonfim, accompanied the panels. “Despite the greater production potential in relation to previous panels, the challenges imposed by the increase in input prices were reflected in the results”, she assessed.
According to the data collected, producers in both regions are managing to cover the Total Operating Cost (TOC). “Margins are positive, but revenue has not been enough to cover land and capital costs,” said Danyella.
In Goiatuba, inputs represented 54% of the Effective Operating Cost (COE). Fertilizer was the main item that weighed on rural producers’ pockets. In Quirinópolis, disbursements on inputs reached 47% of the COE.
To carry out the analyses, the Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA) had the support of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Goiás (Faeg), the Association of Sugarcane Suppliers (AFC), the Association of Sugarcane Producers of Goiás (Aprocana ) and Pecege (Esalq/USP).
