The Brazilian Agriculture and Livestock Confederation (CNA) participated, on Tuesday (25/04), in the meeting of the National Advisory Council of the Global Coffee Platform (GCP).
The deputy technical director of the CNA, Maciel Silva, and the technical advisor of the entity's National Coffee Commission, Raquel Miranda, followed the debates on sustainability in the value chain and promoting the income and well-being of coffee farmers.
At the opening of the meeting, the president of the GCP World Council, Carlos Brando, spoke about the platform's role as a promotion agent in the process of production and trade of sustainable coffees.
On the occasion, council members also discussed actions that promote technical training for producers, sustainable production practices and access to international markets.
The Global Coffee Platform is an international association that brings together members of the coffee production chain to discuss proposals for developing the chain at a global level. GCP currently operates in 9 producing countries: Colombia, Honduras, Peru, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Vietnam, Indonesia and Brazil.
