The Brazilian Agriculture and Livestock Confederation (CNA) prepared a material with guidance for rural producers on the ID Agro Máquinas, a tool developed for registering tractors and agricultural machinery.

The content was presented on Thursday (13), in a meeting with state agriculture and livestock federations, with the aim of clarifying doubts about the new tool.

ID Agro was created by the CNA Institute in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) and complies with Decree 11.014/2022, which established the National Registry of Agricultural Machines (Renagro).

Renagro emerged from Law 13.154/2015, amending the Brazilian Traffic Code (Law 9503/1997), which waives the mandatory registration and licensing of tractors and agricultural machinery. The registration procedure is free and came into effect on October 1, 2022, for machines manufactured from 2016 onwards.

“It is important to make it very clear to the producer that, with the single registration, he does not need registration and licensing, guaranteeing security for the owner and the machinery", stated Bruno Lucchi, technical director of CNA. “Our job is to facilitate this transition together to the producer and disseminate this material to rural unions and concessionaires.”

ID Agro Máquinas will allow producers to use tractors on public roads, as long as they meet the requirements, and will provide greater security in the sale of used machines.

To register, the producer needs to download the application and register with personal information. Subsequently, you must request registration of the machine with the brand's dealership or reseller, in person or remotely. At this stage, the owner's original documents, the invoice and the chassis or serial number of the asset will be analyzed.

“It is important to highlight that having Renagro does not mean that the machine can travel on public roads. The document is just one of the requirements for this. In addition to registration, tractors and agricultural machinery must have the appropriate dimensions and mandatory safety items”, highlighted ICNA administrative coordinator, Carlos Frederico Dias.

At the moment it is only possible to register tractors and harvesters. Other equipment will be enabled from the 1st quarter of 2023.
