The Brazilian Agriculture and Livestock Confederation (CNA) and the Agriculture Federation of the State of Minas Gerais (Faemg) released, on Thursday (10/11), a series of guidelines for rural producers in Minas Gerais for preparing the technical report after windstorms and hailstorms have hit the state in recent days.

Climate events damaged crops and pastures, compromising harvest and future production. According to a note from CNA and Faemg, for the producer to be able to renegotiate credit operations with creditors or contact the insurance company, it is necessary to prepare a technical report.

“The producer needs to ask a professional to issue a technical report to record how the weather event, in this case the hailstorm, affected his crop”, explained CNA's technical advisor, Mariza de Almeida.

With the document in hand, affected producers can have access to rural insurance, debt extension and renegotiation and the credit line from the Coffee Economy Defense Fund (Funcafé) to finance the recovery of damaged areas.

CNA and Faemg are working to survey the areas, cultures and estimates of short, medium and long-term damage.
