The Central Bank of Brazil published this Monday (22) Resolution No. 5.074 of the National Monetary Council (CMN) which adjusts the rules in the Agricultural Modernization and Conservation of Natural Resources Program (Moderagro). The CMN, with a view to maintaining adequate levels of productivity and soil quality with positive effects on the environment, once again allowed financing for the acquisition, transport, application and incorporation of agricultural improvers (limestone and others) and remineralizers within the scope of the Moderagro Program.

Since the 2021/2022 agricultural year, this purpose was financed only in the Program for Adaptation to Climate Change and Low Carbon Emissions in Agriculture (ABC+ Program). With the change, rural producers will have more alternatives to meet their credit needs, being able to quickly obtain resources to finance soil recovery in a timely manner.

Another CMN resolution published today defined the amount of R$6,375 billion of resources allocated in the General Budget of the Union (OGU) for financing under the Coffee Economy Defense Fund (Funcafé).
