At the largest agricultural and technological fair in the Northwest region of the State, Parecis SuperAgro, in Campo Novo do Parecis, the Association of Soy and Corn Producers of Mato Grosso (Aprosoja-MT), brought participants a lecture with the theme “Agriculture, climate change and the carbon market”, with the managing partner of Agroicone, Rodrigo Lima.

“The big issue is to dispel the myth that agricultural production in Brazil is harmful due to its scale. This discussion on climate change considers the importance of transforming food systems, facing the impacts of global warming so that it is possible to achieve global food security”, highlighted the speaker.

Data were presented on carbon emissions in the country, low-carbon farming and farming as part of the solution to climate change. In addition, methods and adoption of technologies for mitigating tons of carbon per year in the world were discussed.

“We had the opportunity to talk about a relevant subject, which is the carbon market. I highlight the importance of sustainable production in production chains and the demand for reducing emissions, which creates a supply of carbon credits with environmental integrity”, emphasized Rodrigo Lima.

The Parecis SuperAgro fair, in Campo Novo do Parecis, continues until April 1st.
