Brahman breed genetics will be offered at exhibition auctions in São Paulo
Not long before the start of the event that promises good business for rural producers in Rio Grande do Sul and several other regions of the country. Between the 14th and 18th of March, the municipality of Não-Me-Toque in Rio Grande do Sul will host Expodireto Cotrijal , a fair that brings together more than 300 exhibitors, with an estimated audience of approximately 170 thousand people. The Central Agricultural Research Cooperative – Coodetec will also be present and promises to offer hybrids and cultivars with high production potential.
The vice-president of Cotrijal and Coodetec, Jairo Marcos Kohlrausch, states that Coodetec is an important representative of Brazilian research and cooperatives. “For Cotrijal, genetics, innovation, cost reduction, producer support and income guarantee the future of the farmer and the Cooperative. Coodetec fulfills this role.”
For the executive director of Coodetec, Ivo Carraro, farmers will have a unique opportunity at Expodireto 2011. “There are more than 300 companies together, highlighting the latest news for agribusiness. In this group, Coodetec presents the best hybrids and cultivars on the market. Our concern is to meet the demands and needs of the producer, so we will answer questions and indicate the best corn and soy options for each property.”
At the Coodetec stand, which is next to the Expodireto food court, rural producers will have access to the latest corn and CD soybeans.
Soy - For soybean growers who visit the Não-Me-Toque fair, Coodetec has prepared plots with four strains and six commercial varieties, including STS technology. With the CD 249RR-STS cultivar, for example, the soybean producer will have high productive potential, sowing at the normal time, resistance to lodging and fleabane control. The STS system guarantees tolerance to sulphonylureas, which makes it possible to use herbicides from this chemical group to control weeds, which are resistant to glyphosate and which compromise up to 40% of the soybean harvest.
Another highlight in the Coodetec soybean plots is the early cultivar CD 248RR. This seed guarantees high productive potential, has a high weight and grain size and is resistant to lodging. “The main characteristic of this cultivar is the low plant size. It is mainly recommended for high and cold regions of southern Brazil”, explained Coodetec sales supervisor, Jonathan Hilgert.
Corn - For those who produce corn, Coodetec offers conventional hybrids, with Bt technology and for silage. Among the CD corn plots, the highlights are the CD 386Hx, CD 384Hx and CD 397YG hybrids. The first, suitable for the summer harvest, is a launch and guarantees good leaf health, excellent stalk quality and good strawing. “The producer who opts for the CD 386Hx hybrid will have protection against fall armyworm and sugarcane borer and will also guarantee good productivity”, detailed Coodetec commercial manager, Marcelo da Costa Rodrigues.
This year, Coodetec makes Bt technology available to mini and small rural producers in Rio Grande do Sul, linked to the Troca-Troca program. “In the next harvest, the early hybrid CD 397YG will be available at Troca”, commented Rodrigues. This corn, in addition to high productivity and leaf health, has a greater volume of silage with a share of grains.
During Expodireto Cotrijal 2011, livestock farmers will have access to a demonstration of the best options in CD hybrids for silage. Coodetec's portfolio has excellent options for those who produce silage. The producer, who looks for the Coodetec stand at Expodireto Cotrijal, will receive important information to guarantee yield on the properties.
Visitors to the fair will also have access to conventional hybrids with high production potential, such as CD 393, which presents uniformity of ears, hard and orange grains and healthy stem and root. “We have options for all producing regions. Anyone who visits our stand will be able to check it out and take away reliable information to increase profits in the next harvests,” highlighted Jonathan Hilgert.
Award - This Sunday (13), Coodetec will receive the Brazil Trophy – Expodireto, in the Excellence in Research category. The awards ceremony will be held at the Carazinho Events Center, at 20:30 pm.
