CBSoja and Mercosoja 2022 debate the challenges of sustainable soy production

The opening conference of the IX Brazilian Soy Congress and Mercosoja 2022, to be held from May 16 to 19, in Foz do Iguaçu (PR), by Embrapa Soja, will address the news and trends in the world soy market through director of Market Development at CME Group (Chicago Stock Exchange) focusing on Latin America/Commodities, Roberta Paffaro. CBSOJA and Mercosoja are the two largest technical-scientific forums in the soybean production chain in South America and take place together in this edition of the event. The expectation is to bring together approximately 2 thousand participants from the soy production chain and national and international speakers from various segments linked to the soy complex.

To discuss the central theme of the event - Challenges for sustainable production in Mercosur - six conferences are scheduled, 18 panels in which more than 50 lectures will be held. In addition, the event will feature more than 300 registered technical works that will be presented in poster format and orally. The president of the events, Adeney de Freitas Bueno, a researcher at Embrapa Soja, emphasizes that to guarantee the safety of participants, the events - in a face-to-face format - will follow all health protocols established for prevention against Covid-19, in addition to being required proof of the complete vaccination cycle or a negative Covid PCR test lasting up to 72 hours for all participants.

The technical program will address issues linked to the current technological challenges of production systems, to new opportunities that are emerging for the production chain, with sustainability as a transversal concept throughout the event. Aspects related to sustainability, for example, can impact the opening of new markets, the insertion of the chain in the bioeconomy era, advances in the area of ​​genome editing and other emerging and disruptive technologies.

Innovation Arena - One of the new features of this edition will be the Innovation Arena, an environment that aims to integrate participants from the Brazilian innovation ecosystem, brought together from startups to 5.0 agriculture companies, in addition to presenting the latest emerging and disruptive applications for the production chain of soybeans.

In addition to the broad technical-scientific program, there will be a technology fair, in which exhibitors will present the latest technologies developed for the soy production chain and allows interaction between participants, resulting in an excellent opportunity for networking, business and articulation of agendas. of work. The Exhibitor Pavilion will bring together more than 32 exhibitors who will demonstrate information and knowledge relevant to the market, such as the presentation of equipment, technologies and services that are positively impacting the field.

Relare - For the first time in the history of the congress, there will be a simultaneous holding of the Network of Laboratories for the Recommendation, Standardization and Diffusion of Microbial Inoculants of Agricultural Interest (RELARE), which will take place on the 16th and 17th of May.
