CASE launches high-precision diagnostic tool at M&T Peças

Case Construction Equipment, one of the leading brands in construction machinery sales in Brazil, launches a high-precision diagnostic tool, DATAR, which will be presented for the first time during M&T Peças 2017. The fair takes place in São Paulo, from June 7th to 9th.

DATAR allows the analysis of several parameters, collected at intervals of fractions of seconds and which can be related to each other at the time of diagnosis. Another difference is the complete mapping of the evaluated item, from activation to completion, and not of parts of the part's operation, as happens with conventional tools.

“For example, it is possible to relate the electrical current and pressure in a solenoid valve for actuation tests; or the voltage and electric current of the machine at the time of start-up, to evaluate the battery, alternator and similar items”, explains Service Manager Relton Henrique Cesar. “The objective is to get ahead of any problem and avoid a drop in productivity and even machine downtime with much more precision and safety”, he adds.

Analysis and diagnosis are carried out directly on the machine, without the need to disassemble the equipment and transport the parts that will be analyzed.

DATAR is made up of hardware with oscilloscope, pressure transducers and ammeter, and is capable of taking digital readings and communicating with software via a USB port. “The tool records data in numerical form and graphics, obtaining greater quality and precision during diagnosis”, he explains.

Increases demand for prevention – This year, the demand for preventive maintenance plans grew and corresponds to 40% of total machines sold; the 2016 average was 25%.

“In periods of greater economic uncertainty, the tendency is for sales of new machines to fall, but there is greater concern about equipment productivity. Much more is demanded of the fleet, as preventive maintenance contracts increase”, explains Relton Cesar.

And the main tool to ensure high productivity rates in construction machines is preventive maintenance.

At M&T Expo, the brand's stand will feature a Solutions area that is part of the CASE CARE program and includes a Preventive Maintenance Plan, which includes the SystemGard fluid analysis system; an exclusive area for demonstrating the SiteWatch satellite fleet monitoring system; and demonstration of diagnostic tools Electronic Service Tool(EST) and DATAR, which is the release.

A 1650L tracked tractor equipped with the SiteControl system will also be on display, to control the blade using a laser reference.
