Ways of managing micronutrients in sugarcane are the subject of an IAC Workshop
The Agronomic Institute (IAC) will hold the Micronutrients Workshop in Sugarcane, on October 06th and 07th, 2021
Case IH presented on Wednesday (1/09) the Case IH Connected Farm, a technological package applied in real conditions of Brazilian agriculture, which brings together the brand's different advanced solutions and its machines with connectivity. Located in Água Boa, a region of high agricultural productivity in Mato Grosso, the farm with more than 3 thousand hectares received a 4G connection from TIM to enable the project. The entire operation will be monitored by the AFS Connect Center, the brand's new monitoring center, installed at the Sorocaba (SP) factory and also at several Case IH Network dealerships.
The objective of the project is to show how rural connectivity increases productivity in the field, even in a region that already has high yields crop after crop. In the municipality, with 198 thousand hectares planted with soybeans, 160 thousand tons of the commodity were produced in the last harvest, with the average productivity being more than 58 bags of soybeans per hectare.
“Through machine learning, our intelligent machines that learn and self-adjust; The data generated by our equipment and solutions, which use Big Data and Data Analytics, shows that we are already involved in digital agriculture”, comments Christian Gonzalez, vice president of Case IH for Latin America. “And all of this will be demonstrated in practice on a property of more than 3 thousand hectares, the Case IH Connected Farm, which brings together the most advanced technologies that Brazilian producers have ever had access to”, he adds.
The connectivity established by TIM, with two 4G LTE antennas at a frequency of 700MHz, installed on the farm and in the center of Água Boa, meets the needs of the countryside and is in line with a project to expand connectivity in agricultural areas led by the operator, called 4G TIM in Campo. At the Case IH Connected Farm, the company's new generation of connected machines works by generating and receiving data in real time.
"Democratizing access to 4G networks, in the countryside or in cities, is one of TIM's priorities. The partnership with Case IH at Fazenda Conectada will be important for us to test the expansion of connectivity projects to other regions of the country", declares Paulo Humberto Gouvea, Head of Corporate Solutions at TIM.
The Magnum and Steiger AFS Connect tractors, launched this year, are examples of this new era of equipment with connectivity. With the AFS Connect system embedded from the factory, the tractors are equipped with a new monitor, new electronic architecture, operating system, receiver and completely redesigned hardware that allows remote viewing and remote support features.
In addition to connected machines, Case IH also presents connectivity services and solutions, such as solutions from AgXtend, a CNH Industrial brand that offers technologies for all stages of the crop cycle, such as soil radiography, map generation and measuring grain quality.
All fleet and property information and agronomic data can be managed in the AFS Connect Center, a support center that operates seven days a week and will provide specialists to assist the customer in real time. According to Case IH, the 161 dealerships spread across Brazil (in total there are 34 groups that represent Case IH) will have a control room specially developed to monitor customers' agricultural machines.
“With connectivity, all Case IH advanced machines and solutions, the producer benefits from increased productivity, as well as production capacity; there is also a reduction in water consumption, efficiency in logistics and stock storage, improved labor and increased property security. In the financial field, there is an increase in ROI (return on investment), cost optimization, reduction in input costs and general expenses, in addition to data efficiency”, comments Rodrigo Alandia, Product Marketing Manager at Case IH for America Latin.
In addition to Case IH's Fazenda Conectada, CNH Industrial announced important acquisitions in the last two years for its project to accelerate the digital revolution in the countryside. The negotiation with Raven Industries, a North American leader in precision agriculture technology, is proof of this. The company is a reference in autonomous systems.
The minority investment in Monarch Tractor, a US-based agricultural technology company, will accelerate the transformation of the agricultural industry towards autonomy and electrification, enabling profitable and sustainable, zero-emission agribusiness. Another important acquisition was AgDNA, a leader in agricultural management information systems (FMIS). It will enable Case IH customers to benefit from data integration, mapping and analysis tools.
As part of the project, more than 16 thousand people, from communities around Água Boa, 93 rural properties, 21 schools and more than 6 thousand will benefit from the arrival of the 4G signal.
“The internet improves urban mobility, with the use of GPS, delivery and transport applications, brings numerous benefits to telemedicine, a modality widely used during the pandemic and limited to those who do not have access to the internet, in addition to offering distance learning for the whole of society, providing more opportunities to train professionals with online training”, says Eduardo Penha, director of Marketing and Communications in Latin America.
