Cascavel will have a Smart Agro 5.0 innovation and certification center

A protocol of intentions signed during the third edition of the Rural Coopavel Winter Show, at the end of August, is the beginning of a project that will make Cascavel a national center of excellence in innovation and certification in Smart Agro 5.0. The novelty was one of the topics on the agenda of the recent Codesc (Cascavel Sustainable Economic Development Council) plenary held at Areac, the Regional Association of Agricultural Engineers of Cascavel.

The matter was presented to the presidents and representatives of the entities that form Codesc by Coopavel's IT manager, Rogerio Aver. He highlighted that one of the ways to foster innovation is to strengthen technology parks, which are made up of companies, research and training centers and higher education institutions. In this environment, these actors promote synergy and trust between development agents, strengthening aspects such as competitiveness and cooperation.

Aver highlighted that investing in the Foundation for the Scientific and Technological Development of Cascavel will be a strategic measure to strengthen the park and with the resources that will come, in addition to expanding the Fundetec structure, the municipality will now have an agro-industrial innovation center. Coopavel's IT manager recalled that the alignments for the implementation of the Smart Agro 5.0 project in the municipality have been going on for a long time and that its feasibility is only possible due to some conditions common to Cascavel and the region, which is one of the breadbaskets of world and is home to some of the largest agro-industrial cooperatives in the country, as well as the boldness of its leaders.

First and only

Cascavel will have, as the steps of the protocol are put into practice, the first and only Agro Operations and Intelligence Center in Brazil. According to Aver, it will converge BigData platforms for agriculture and a dedicated DataCenter using artificial intelligence, creating an unprecedented national network of data from a segment responsible for generating 27% of the country's GDP (Gross Domestic Product).

The partners in the project are Cascavel City Hall, through Fundetec, PTI (Parque Tecnológico Itaipu), Coopavel and Brasil Soberano, a holding company with 40 years of tradition that incorporates business groups and specialists in scientific mission, physical and cyber security solutions. The group's CEO, Andrei Deuschle da Silva, was recently in Cascavel and said that for the first time in the world, two aspects of Smart City and Smart Agro management intelligence will be integrated.

Aver highlights that the PTI will house the data and business intelligence, which is why the participation of the Itaipu Technological Park in the protocol is one of the most fundamental. “In fact, the partnership was only possible due to the efforts made by PTI directors and employees in structuring and consolidating the partnership”, highlights the president of Coopavel Cooperativa Agroindustrial, Dilvo Grolli.

Objectives

The objectives of the partnership include: modernizing and verticalizing agriculture through the certification and operation of new technologies; modernize and expand technological routes of the multimodal logistics system; modernize and expand port operations for the export of grains and proteins combined with the import of fertilizers and other inputs.

And also: create the Smart Agro 5.0 center of excellence and the national seal of technological excellence in agriculture; to house in Cascavel, at Fundetec, the first campus of excellence in multimodal logistics of the future University of National Critical Infrastructures and to encourage and consolidate the innovation process in Agro Brasil through the joint operation of the National Center for Excellence and Innovation in Agro with the Show Rural Coopavel, the biggest showcase of Brazilian agribusiness.

Food security

According to Rogerio Aver, Smart Agro 5.0 is the nerve center of a major food security initiative that integrates a unique partnership between Brazil and Saudi Arabia. Aver also spoke about the current and next stages of work and cited five key points as a return to the community: attraction of new investments, increase in per capita income, generation of specialized jobs and income, consolidation of Cascavel as a headquarters for the West and a protagonist in technologies for national agriculture.
