Fundamental issues for the development of sugarcane production in Brazil will be debated on April 2 and 3, at the second edition of the Cana Summit. Promoted by Orplana (Organization of Associations of Sugarcane Producers of Brazil), the event takes place at CICB (International Convention Center of Brazil), in Brasília and expects to bring together 600 producers and representatives of the sugar-energy sector from different regions of the country.

During the two-day event, panels will be held on strategic themes for the sector, with the presence of political authorities, national and international experts, as well as representatives from sugarcane producing countries, such as Colombia, Mexico and Australia.

The proposal is to discuss public policies, market trends, environmental challenges and other crucial issues for the sector.

"The Cana Summit is consolidating itself as an essential space to listen to the needs of producers and to discuss the necessary actions that will strengthen sugarcane production in the country", says José Guilherme Nogueira, CEO of Orplana.

ProgramThe first day of the Cana Summit 2025 will focus on the actions of state governments and the discussion of the needs of sugarcane producers in the coming years. The opening panel will address the main government initiatives for the sugarcane sector, including topics such as infrastructure, security, taxes and tax reform.

The event will also feature a panel dedicated to the role of the Senate and the defense of sugarcane producers, where issues related to ethanol consumption and the demystification of the image of producers as causes of fires will be discussed. The debate on the inclusion of producers in public policies will also be on the agenda, with the presence of federal deputies to discuss the IPA and the defense of the sugarcane business.

On the second day, the panels will focus on the dynamics of the ethanol market and the review of Consecana-SP. The panel "The Ethanol Market and Dynamics in the Marketing of Sugarcane" will bring debates on the prospects for the ethanol market and the challenges faced by producers in the marketing of sugarcane.

The program will also feature an international panel, with the presence of the executive director of the International Sugar Organization (ISO), José Orive, who will provide an analysis of the forecasts for sugarcane producing countries.

The event schedule also includes the presentation of studies on the sector, scenario simulations and detailed diagnoses that will support discussions on public policies aimed at producers and the regulatory environment for sugarcane production in Brazil.
