C.Vale is expanding its operations in Brazil’s Midwest. The cooperative has taken over operations at Corteva’s seed processing plant in Catalão, Goiás, which occupies 27 hectares along the BR 050 highway. The facility will be used to supply soybean seeds to farmers in Mato Grosso and northern Mato Grosso do Sul. The industrial area covers 40 square meters, of which 30 square meters are warehouses.

The facilities have the capacity to produce two million bags of soybean seeds per year, with 125 seeds each. The equipment can process up to 70 tons of soybeans per hour and shipping will be done at docks that can load up to nine trucks simultaneously. The structure will employ between 40 and 70 people.

The unit is located in a region where the altitude varies from 850 to 900 meters, which favors this type of activity. The cooperative already produces soybean seeds in Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.

With the start of operations in Catalão, scheduled for February 2025, the cooperative now has 198 business units in six states and Paraguay. C.Vale operates in the grain, chicken and fish meat, cassava, milk, pork, inputs, machinery, implements, supermarkets and fuel segments. In 2023, the cooperative had revenues of R$24,4 billion.
