In a year of climate catastrophes, the performance of Brazilian agribusiness was affected by the reduction in volumes and revenues of producers and companies in the segment. For C.Vale, droughts and floods reduced the receipt of soybeans by 10% and corn by 20% last year. The climate factor combined with the devaluation of grains resulted in a 10% drop in the cooperative's revenue, reaching R$21,98 billion. However, surpluses grew almost 25%, driven by the good results of chicken and fish. C.Vale is making R$150 million available to members. The amount will be released starting Monday, the 10th.

The data was presented at a meeting on February 7th at Asfuca in Palotina, with the participation of members and guests. In his report, the president of the cooperative, Alfredo Lang, considered that 2024 was a year of three important advances. He mentioned the decision to stop discounting an amount corresponding to one percent of the production sold by members to the cooperative. “The increase in share capital will now originate from the values that C.Vale manages to add to the products it sells,” explained the director.

Lang also recalled the agreement with Paturi Piscicultura that allowed C.Vale to process and sell tilapia meat from producers linked to the company. The deal makes it possible to increase production and slaughter of fish from 190 to 240 tilapia/day in a shorter period than initially planned.

Another advance, according to Lang, will be the production of soybean seeds in Catalão, in the interior of Goiás, to serve members in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul.

In 2025, C.Vale will invest in its grain units to increase the receipt and shipment of soybeans and corn. The cooperative also intends to continue increasing soybean processing at its crusher in Palotina (PR) until it permanently reaches the maximum capacity of 60 bags/day.
