C.Vale expands operations in Mato Grosso do Sul

Cooperative now has 17 units for receiving grains in three new municipalities

C.Vale has expanded its operations in Mato Grosso do Sul. In total, three new units will serve producers in Maracajú, Chapadão do Sul and Costa Rica in 2024. With the three new units, the number of municipalities with grain receiving units in the state where C.Vale began operating in 17 rises to 2001.

The strategy to expand its presence in Mato Grosso do Sul takes into account the need to supply the cooperative's soybean crusher, which began operating in June in the municipality of Palotina (PR). By the end of July, the industry was processing 40 bags of grain per day.

The cities that have C.Vale grain receiving units in Mato Grosso do Sul (MS) are:

Em Maracaju, the structure is located 16 kilometers from the city center and on the banks of BR 267, towards Rio Brilhante. There are three silos for 3.600 tons each, two scales (one for road use for 140 tons and one for flow for 120 tons/hour), in addition to two buffer silos, and a hopper with a 21-meter tipper and a capacity for 80 tons. The unit also has a pre-cleaning machine, dryer, input warehouses and a cafeteria.  

The municipality has just over 45 thousand inhabitants and a territory of 5.396 square kilometers where, on average, 330.000 hectares of soybeans and 280.000 hectares of corn are cultivated.

At kilometer 12 of BR 359, in Costa Rica, on the border between Mato Grosso do Sul and Goiás, the structure consists of a grain warehouse for 60 thousand tons, a 25-meter road scale, two hoppers, a pre-cleaning machine, and three dryers connected in series. Ten direct jobs were created.

In the municipality of Chapadão do Sul, the unit occupies 12 hectares at kilometer 123 of MS 306. The 8.196 square meter structure of built area includes an office, laboratory, powerhouse/furnace and changing room. There are three hoppers, three pre-cleaning machines, four dryers and two scales. The storage capacity is 45 thousand tons. Twenty employees will work at the site.

The city has 38 inhabitants and has 105 hectares of land for soybean cultivation and 35.000 hectares for corn. The unit will be managed by Edimar Manoel Teodoro and deputy manager Jaisson Oliveira de Paula.
