BrasilAgro concluded the first half of the 2021/22 harvest year, between July and December last year, with record net revenue of R$957,6 million. The result is 175% higher than that recorded in the same period of 2020, according to the balance released to the market.
It was also the best quarterly revenue in the company's history, R$579,5 million. Between October and December, total net profit was R$299,3 million and adjusted EBITDA, profit before discounts on interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, was R$340,2 million.
The half-yearly result brings the sum of R$ 316,2 million invoiced from farm sales, already announced to the market, and R$ 641,5 million from agricultural operations. In a message to shareholders, André Guillaumon, CEO of BrasilAgro, says that the results reflect the execution of the company's thesis, "which combines the generation of value through the sale of land and agricultural products".
Also according to the balance sheet, the net profit of the company, which specializes in the purchase and sale of rural properties and the production of food, fiber and bioenergy, reached R$407,2 million. Adjusted EBITDA was R$530,9 million.
The company ended the semester with R$899,7 million in cash and cash equivalents.
The company's quarterly balance sheet already includes the results obtained with the sugar cane harvest, concluded in November, which totaled 2,2 million tons. BrasilAgro, which operates in six Brazilian states, in addition to Paraguay and Bolivia, allocated 26,6 hectares to sugarcane cultivation. The company's figures indicate an average productivity of 83,7 tons per hectare (ha).
"It is worth highlighting the record sugarcane harvest in Maranhão, a relevant result for the Company's performance", says an excerpt from the balance sheet.
The company also reported that the soybean harvest in the Central-West was higher than expected, while other areas begin to harvest this month. In the case of cotton and corn, the planting of the main crop has been completed and the company has already started planting the second crop.
In relation to livestock, BrasilAgro accounts for 16,9 thousand heads of cattle, on 9.756 hectares of pastures in Brazil and Paraguay. This type of production is transitory, according to the company, and aims to transform the area.
The performance of the company's shares over the last semester was above the B3 index and accumulated a variation of 43,1% in the period. The average daily volume traded was R$13,9 million.
