Geovane Consul, CEO of BP Bioenergy, has decided to leave the company to take on new challenges, having worked since the formation of the BP Bunge Bioenergy joint venture in 2019, driving the strategy and growth of this business. His leadership has had a significant impact on the acceleration and transformation of the company, achieving important advances in terms of safety and operational performance, with improved agricultural and industrial assets, leaving the company in a strong position and with great prospects for the future to support BP's growth strategy in bioenergy.

“I thank Geovane for his dedication and contributions during his career with us and wish him success in his next professional chapter. I will continue the work he started, consolidating the bioenergy business for the growth and innovation phases,” he reinforces. In September 2024, Andres Guevara de la Vega was announced as the new president of BP in Brazil and became chairman of the board of the joint venture, in addition to the position of non-executive director of the board of Pan American Energy, one of Argentina's leading energy companies, which inaugurated ten wind farms in Brazil. Also in 2024, BP took over Bunge's share in the bioenergy joint venture they formed in 2019.

“It is an honor and a joy to take on the leadership of BP in Brazil, a country very close to my heart and a market with countless opportunities for the energy sector. The country plays a key role thanks to its vast potential in renewable energy, especially in the bioenergy sector. The combination of abundant natural resources and a diversified energy matrix certainly puts Brazil in a privileged position to make BP an integrated energy company,” said the executive when announcing his position at BP Brazil.

Andres Guevara of La Vega has extensive international experience in the sector, spanning over 20 years of career, including various roles in the Upstream segment, trading and, more recently, low-carbon energy. Andres holds a degree in production engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar, and an MBA in finance and economics from the University of Chicago. During almost two decades at BP, he has held operational, planning and management positions. He was President of BP Spain, Director of Business Development for global Gas Value Chains, Business Development Manager for Upstream South America based in Brazil and Coordinator of Crude Oil Trading and Origination in Latin America.
