Bosch BASF Smart Farming (BBSF), a company that was born from a joint venture between Bosch and BASF Digital Farming, to distribute and commercialize smart agricultural technologies globally, announces the partnership with Stara to commercialize the Smart Spraying Solution in America Latin.

“We are very happy to have Stara as our first commercial partner here in Latin America", highlights Rodrigo Lima, executive director of Bosch BASF Smart Farming in Latin America.

“We know that agribusiness needs to be increasingly efficient and this will only be possible with the right tools, and being able to offer producers an intelligent solution that increases productivity while supporting sustainability and biodiversity in the field is directly linked to our Stara’s strategic objective and mission, which is constant evolution for agribusiness”, concludes the executive.

Smart spray technology has already proven its performance on several continents during extensive field tests. The solution combines the best of both worlds by bringing together the know-how of Bosch and BASF. With extensive experience in the automotive sector, Robert Bosch provides the hardware and software for the smart sprayer. Cameras, control units and lighting units make it possible to detect weeds in real time during the day and night. BASF provides the necessary digital agronomic intelligence with a Smart Spraying module in xarvio Field Manager to provide farmers with a holistic solution.

With the integration of technology in the Stara Imperador 4000 sprayer, the qualities of all the companies involved are combined into an innovative product. In addition to being the only localized spraying solution that provides a data-driven decision support tool, the Imperador 4000 Eco Spray smart sprayer differentiates itself from the competition by carrying out both pre- and post-crop emergence applications.

The Smart Spraying Solution was first used in Brazil in the 20/21 harvest. “We are always looking to evolve our products to bring the best to the farmer and, together with the Bosch and BASF Digital Farming team, we have implemented the innovative smart spraying solution on the Imperador 4000 to ensure an even greater benefit for farmers and the environment”, comments Átila Stapelbroek Trennepohl, CEO of Stara.

“We are bringing a new digital solution to the market and a new approach to weed management – a more precise and efficient model for the use of agricultural pesticides that directly contributes to the environment and the sustainability of the farmer’s business”, he states. Lime.

“In field tests with the Imperador 4000 Eco Spray sprayer, we achieved significant savings in herbicides, while maintaining high quality in weed management. The solution, through localized application, allows producers to significantly reduce production costs", adds Átila.
