The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), in a joint effort with the Federal Government, will make available on April 11th an additional R$1,4 billion for credit operations within the scope of the Federal Government's Agricultural Programs (PAGF) for the Harvest Plan 2023-2024. With the measure, the total resources still available in the different PAGF to be transferred by the Bank is R$4,6 billion, with a term of use until June 2024.

The Bank has already approved more than R$28 billion, in more than 120 thousand operations, for the 2023-2024 Harvest Plan, an increase of 23% compared to the same period of the last harvest.

“These are important resources that can be used by rural producers, including family farmers, and agricultural cooperatives, for funding and investment in various purposes, and reveal the priority with which President Lula's government treats the country's agricultural sector”, explains the president from BNDES, Aloizio Mercadante. According to him, producers will be able to expand production, purchase machinery and equipment, storage and invest in innovation.

BNDES is one of the main supporters of the agricultural sector. In addition to the PAGF, the Bank also offers its own solutions to guarantee the supply of credit throughout the year, such as BNDES Crédito Rural.
