The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) announced to financial agents on Friday (10/06) the reopening of protocols and contracting of new credit operations within the scope of the Federal Government's Agricultural Programs (PAGFs). The reopening, authorized by the National Treasury Secretariat, provides for an additional R$1,9 billion in support for family and business agriculture for investment in its most diverse purposes, such as projects to expand and modernize production, acquire machinery and equipment, sustainability and innovation.
As authorized by the National Treasury Secretariat, the following lines were reopened:
BNDES is a great supporter of the agricultural sector and its resources reach rural producers and their cooperatives through partner financial agents. In the 2021/2022 Harvest Plan, R$16,6 billion is already allocated to 65.656 farmers, approved through 26 financial agents, including development agencies, credit cooperatives, cooperative banks, private banks, car manufacturers' banks and public banks. This operating model allows for a decentralized distribution of resources throughout the country, facilitating the development of public policy to support agriculture.
Even during the suspension of the Safra Plan, BNDES continued to provide credit to rural producers and cooperatives through other proprietary solutions, such as the BNDES Rural Credit Program, which guarantees the continuity of the supply of resources to the sector. During the 2021/2022 Harvest Plan, R$3 billion were approved under this program which, since its launch in 2020, has reached around R$7 billion, distributed across more than 17 thousand operations.
