Biotrop launches two new and important tools to the market: Biomagne, for the control of nematodes and soil diseases; It is Biokato, for integrated pest management (bioinsecticide).

Biomagno: against nematodes and fungi

Biomagno biodefensive has powerful biofungicide and bionematicidal action in a single product. The double solution has a triple mixture of Bacillus: velezensis, thuringiensis e amyloliquefaciens. Due to its plurality of action, the solution can be used for various crops, which have the presence of registered targets.

According to Thales Facanali Martins, agronomist and portfolio manager at Biotrop, Biomagno has multiple modes of action and a broad spectrum of control, and can be used throughout the national territory, achieving a high frequency of positive responses in the results.

“Biomagno is an innovation that focuses on regenerative agriculture, working on the concept of biological diversity to control nematodes and soil pathogens, to enhance producers’ profitability. In addition to these characteristics, the product is already in the 4th generation of biological products, with 24 months of shelf life in a liquid formulation, making it easier to use for the farmer”, highlights the manager.

The product is registered for lesion nematode (Pratylenchus brachyurus) and for the pathogen Rhizoctonia solani (root rot). Together, they are responsible for generating large productivity losses in crops.

“It is important to highlight that the extension of registration to other targets is already being worked on with regulatory bodies, making Biomagno one of the most complete products for the segment”, reinforces Martins.

Biokato: protection against leafhoppers and bedbugs

Biokato is a bioinsecticide recommended in integrated pest management, which may or may not be associated with agrochemicals. The product contains in its formulation a bacteria of unprecedented agricultural use (Pseudomonas chlororaphis), which provides a very effective response in controlling corn leafhoppers and stink bugs, pests that currently cause many problems and losses.

According to biologist and portfolio manager at Biotrop, Éderson Santos, Biokato has shown performance above 50% control in the fight against corn leafhoppers and stink bugs.

“The product is effective and has many benefits. It is a biological product, which has mixing compatibility with biodefensive products and agrochemical products, providing the producer with maintenance of operating costs”, he highlights.

Biokato's formulation was designed not only to control, but also to better structure the plant's development. Furthermore, the solution produces several toxins with insecticidal action, combined with other bacteria (Pseudonomas fluorescens), which generates the production of metabolic substances, phytohormones, which will bring greater robustness to the plant.

“This is a great milestone for Biotrop, as it is a product with very robust innovation, the result of intelligence, research and investment. Its formulation is stable, with a 12-month shelf life at room temperature (not refrigerated)”, adds Santos.
