Biopark, the first Biosciences Scientific and Technological Park in Paraná, entered into a partnership with Agribela, a company that works to develop products and solutions that benefit agribusiness. The startup, located in Londrina, uses sustainable technology to combat pests in the field, increasing crop productivity and reducing costs through socially, economically and environmentally balanced agriculture.

For the President of the Biopark, Luiz Donaduzzi, the Park and Agribela have common objectives that start with investments mainly in Research, Development and Innovation. “We look for initiatives that are aligned with our vision of contributing to the development of new technology-based products and services and, above all, with sustainable values”, he states.

The company located in the Technology-Based Business Incubator at the State University of Londrina must establish itself in the Biopark. “Agribusiness moves our economy, we believe that this alliance is the beginning of work that will benefit this area even more”, adds Donaduzzi.

For Luiz Guilherme Lira de Arruda, partner at Agribela, Brazil lacks companies that develop solutions to the problems of tropical agriculture. “We developed more efficient technologies for pest control and monitoring weather conditions with a focus on the problems of Brazilian producers. In Brazil, the climate is more severe and the biotic potential of pests is greater, when compared to countries with temperate or cold climates. We need to break the paradigm that the best technologies are always imported, we have fantastic agriculture in Paraná and the alliance with Biorpark will be an excellent lever for new technologies to reach the field more quickly.”

“We know that Toledo is an agribusiness hub in Paraná and an example of organization and productivity. Producers engaged in learning about new technologies and adapting to the most current management strategies express a good example that nothing is static in nature and science must be a tool for improving production systems, with sustainable and social principles. The Biopark represents the cornerstone of companies like Agribela, which work for the sustainable development of national agribusiness”, adds Gabriela Vieria Silva, founding partner of Agribela.

In 2016, the venture was awarded as the potential business for developing solutions that reduce the environmental impact of the grain chain, in the challenge “Agrotech Eco-Innovation Camp”, result of a partnership between UN Environment, Sebrae and Embrapa.
