The Embrapa Agroenergy (EnPI) Research and Innovation Meeting, which takes place on the 9th and 10th of October, in the CNA auditorium, in Brasília (DF), aims to establish a forum for discussions on relevant topics in the area of Agroenergy and also in the area of chemistry and biomass technology; in addition to giving the opportunity to employees who work in the laboratories of this research center or in partner institutions, to exhibit their work. Two poster sessions are scheduled with the themes of Chemistry of Renewables and Materials, Biomasses for Industrial Purposes and Industrial Biotechnology.
As in previous editions, this year we will also have the Agroenergy in Focus Symposium, with lectures and four round tables. The round tables integrate the scientific sector with the public policy sector and the productive sector. The focus of the event is how science can support the growing bioeconomy in the face of climate change. The topics for the debate will be “Global Policies for Biofuels/Bioeconomy in the face of Demands for Sustainability”, “Bioproducts from biomass in the concept of biorefinery”, “Biotechnology to increase production and combat climate change” and, to finalize the tables rounds, “Biomass for Bioenergy, vision of the productive sector”, explains the researcher at Embrapa Agroenergia and coordinator of V EnPI, Simone Mendonça.
The opening of the event will be made by the General Head of Embrapa Agroenergia, Guy de Capdeville, shortly after we will have a talk with Embrapa's R&D Director, Celso Moretti, and with the president of the Brazilian Agribusiness Association (ABAG), Luiz Carlos Correa Carvalho.
As every year, V EnPI is open to the external public, aimed at researchers, companies in the productive sector, government bodies and students.
