BioConsortia Inc. today announced its strategic expansion in Brazil. Its focus is microbial products that "reduce the need for synthetic nitrogen fertilizers and protect crops from pests."
BioConsortia's expansion to Brazil is already underway. The company recently appointed Cesar Lamonega as business development leader in Latin America. The company also added Debora Chaves Coelho Leite to the regulatory team.
BioConsortia has begun registration efforts for several seed-applied products, including a fungicide targeting early-season pathogens such as rhizoctonia and pythium, as well as a broad-spectrum nematicide that also shows activity against important soil-borne insects such as caterpillars. corn root.
Previously, BioConsortia announced a commercial and R&D agreement with Mosaic Company for nitrogen-fixing microbial solutions in row crops in territories including Brazil. Field tests in Brazilian corn production are already underway and aim to demonstrate significant increases in yield and reduction in the application of synthetic nitrogen fertilizers, thus producing more grains for each unit of nitrogen applied.
