Dourados will host, between the 13th and 15th of September 2022, the largest fair focused on family farming in Mato Grosso do Sul. The 4th edition of Tecnofam (Technologies and Knowledge for Family Farming) should bring together around three thousand people between family farmers, technicians and students who will be able to learn about the main technologies aimed at family rural production in the Cerrado, Atlantic Forest and Pantanal adapted to the soil and climate conditions of the Center South of Brazil.

According to Embrapa Agropecuária Oeste, Tecnofam intends to make several technologies available to family farmers, in favor of generating income, increasing productivity and quality of life in the countryside. The research center also points out that, in addition to family farmers, the event is also aimed at technical assistance and rural extension professionals, students, academics, teachers, as well as open to the participation of the urban public interested in agriculture.

Tecnofam is a biannual event. However, this 4th edition, which would have been held in April 2020, had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) and will now take place in September 2022. The 3rd edition of the event took place from April 17 to 19, 2018 and featured with the presence of more than 2800 participants, coming from 11 Brazilian states and 101 municipalities, 68 of them from Mato Grosso do Sul.
The 2nd edition was held from May 11th to 13th, 2016. In that edition, the event's audience expanded beyond family farmers in Mato Grosso do Sul. The 1st edition took place from June 3rd to 5th, 2014, inspired by the celebrations of the International Year of Family Farming. On that occasion, the event showed that it would be possible to carry out an integrative action that contributes to the construction of new knowledge based on already validated technologies.
Tecnofam is a promotion by Embrapa, through Embrapa Agropecuária Oeste (Dourados/MS. The event is organized by federal, state and municipal public bodies supporting agriculture, productive sector agencies such as SENAR/MS and SEBRAE/MS, Agroecology Network of the Association of Organic Producers of Mato Grosso do Sul (Apoms); and Rural Union of Dourados. The event is supported by the Cresol Credit Cooperative, the Sicredi Credit Cooperative, the Research and Development Support Foundation (Faped), Union and Organization of Brazilian Cooperatives in Mato Grosso do Sul (OCB/MS), Unigran, Anhanguera Educacional, among others.
