Be8 has just received Carb (California Air Resources Board) certification for the production route of biodiesel made from animal fat to California, in the United States. The Passo Fundo (RS) unit is the first in South America to receive authorization to export this production route issued by the California air quality regulatory agency.

“This is, without a doubt, another historic achievement for Be8, because Carb is California's air quality control agency responsible for extremely strict environmental regulations and recognized as one of the most restrictive in the world,” celebrated Erasmo Carlos Battistella, President of Be8.

“We have worked hard for many years, especially in our certification area, to achieve this international achievement. I would like to thank our team for the work they have done, which has placed Be8 at a unique level in the market,” said Battistella.

For Ricardo Reckziegel, Commercial Director, “this achievement opens the doors to the Californian market, one of the most strategic and demanding in the sector, generating greater optionality for Be8 in the destination of production, reducing local dependence and allowing access to markets with different profitability”.

After pioneering trade with the European Union in 2013, Be8 had already carried out the first Brazilian biodiesel export operation to the United States in 2023 through certification from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). With Carb certification, the company expands its operations to California.

“We are proud of the pioneering nature of this international strategy and the confirmation of the quality of our production, as certified by American agencies,” added Battistella.
