Be8 announced today the signing of an agreement to acquire three industrial units from Biopar, located in Nova Marilândia (MT), Floriano (PI) and Santo Antônio do Tauá (PA). The consummation of the transaction is subject to approval by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) and the closing of the transaction.

“This acquisition is in line with Be8’s strategy of expanding our area of operation in the production of renewable energy, expanding the markets we serve and our participation in the sector,” highlights Erasmo Carlos Battistella (pictured), president of Be8. “This step reinforces our commitment to a more sustainable future and strengthens our purpose of leading energy renewal,” he adds.

With the completion of the transaction, Be8 will expand its operations to the North, Northeast and Central-West regions, strengthening its distribution network, diversifying raw materials and production in different geographies. The company will also reach the third position in the national ranking of biodiesel production capacity. Currently, Be8 operates two plants in the South of Brazil and, in 2023, it maintained its leadership in the Brazilian market, selling around 800 million liters of biodiesel, equivalent to 10,9% of market share.

Biopar’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Cidinho Santos, highlighted the strategic position of the factories. “We are happy because we are certain that Be8 will continue with the same principles of valuing and caring for its employees and will certainly grow and generate more jobs and income for the regions where Biopar is located,” he said. “I believe that the assets will be much more valued with the diversification of products and growth that the new shareholders will implement,” he added.

Founded in 2007, Biopar operates in the biofuels sector, focusing on the production of biodiesel and glycerin. Its operations are distributed among three manufacturing units that together have an annual production capacity of 384 million liters of biodiesel. The plants located in Floriano (PI) and Santo Antônio do Tauá (PA) have a capacity of 90 million liters each, and the one in Nova Marilândia (MT) has a capacity of 204 million liters/year. The company has 320 employees.

With the incorporation of this volume, Be8, which currently has an annual capacity of 1,08 billion liters of biodiesel, will increase its total volume by 35,6%, consolidating its prominent position in the national biofuels market, totaling 1,47 billion liters of biodiesel per year.
