Bayer's agricultural division will be present at the IX Brazilian Soy Congress, promoted by Embrapa Soja, which takes place from May 16th to 19th in Foz do Iguaçu (PR). The main theme of the technical-scientific forum will be “Challenges for sustainable productivity in Mercosur”, with panels and sectoral discussions on various segments linked to the soybean complex.
In the Innovation Arena Space, participants will be able to follow a lecture on “New digital tools for advancing and positioning cultivars”, with the leader of market development and seed production at Bayer's agricultural division, Alexandre Dessbesell.
Another highlight is the lecture “The Genome of P.pachyrhizi: opening new perspectives for the control of Asian Rust in the era of modern agriculture”, by Embrapa Soja researcher, Francismar Guimarães. The panel will focus on continuing the study on mapping Asian rust genes, in which Bayer participates through a global consortium made up of 12 public and private entities.
During the event, guests also had the opportunity to obtain more information about the main innovations at the Intacta2 Xtend Platform stand, the third generation of biotechnology in soybeans from Bayer, commercially sown for the first time in the 2021/2022 harvest and which have exceeded expectations in relation to productivity, when compared to the results obtained in the test areas.
The Intacta2 Xtend Platform brings together Bayer's expertise in the development of biotechnology, expanding tools for weed management and protection against caterpillars, to expand the farmer's productive potential and elevate Brazilian soybean farming to a new level. Information about the platform will be displayed on a stand at the event, with details of the available varieties adapted for the most diverse regions of the country.
