Bayer says it is betting on regenerative agriculture

Company bets that its alternatives could generate more than €100 billion

Bayer spokespeople said the company should focus on regenerative agriculture in the coming years. In addition, they reported that there is potential in segments such as fertility, biological products, biofuels, precision application services, as well as digital platforms and markets.

According to information, the company plans to obtain more than €100 billion in these markets, although it has not been confirmed from when. It also presented a projection of interacting with regenerative agriculture on more than 400 million acres by "the middle of the next decade".

In the near future, Bayer reported that at least 15 new projects “advanced”. They include pesticides, seeds and "digital models".

Among the research projects and competitive advantages in general, company representatives emphasized its germplasm bank; his works with traits, especially Preceon (Revista Cultivar em 08/03/2023); and what they called sustainable small molecules, especially a new herbicide (Revista Cultivar em 14/02/2020 e 12/03/2021) and Protac technology developed with Oerth Bio (Revista Cultivar em 19/01/2023).
