Bayer Crop Science Canada announced the launch of Raxil Rise, a seed treatment product for cereals that will be commercialized starting with the 2026 harvest. The product expands the Raxil line, which has been used in the country for over 25 years.
Raxil Rise combines four active ingredients: penflufen, tebuconazole, prothioconazole and metalaxyl. According to the company, this combination protects against fungi such as Fusarium spp., Pythium spp. And rhizoctonia spp.. The microdispersion formulation ensures uniform seed coverage, stable flow at different temperatures and low dust levels during application.
The new feature includes the inclusion of penflufen (currently being registered in Brazil), indicated for increased efficiency. The product arrives on the market with an intense pink color, a characteristic that facilitates the visualization of the coating on the seeds and contributes to safe handling.
Pre-commercial trials were conducted in more than 100 areas across Western Canada in the spring of 2025. According to independent consultant Emily Barteaux, who tested the product, the treatment showed good flowability, efficient coverage, and did not cause problems with seeding or treatment machines.
Raxil Rise is registered in Canada for use on wheat, barley, rye, triticale, and oats. The recommended dose is 325 mL per 100 kg of seed. Its use is permitted in both commercial treatment plants and on-farm operations, provided applicators follow appropriate equipment and protective measures.
