In the federal approval phase, with availability expected from 2026, Bayer has confirmed the launch of a new herbicide: diflufenicam (CAS 83164-33-4, HRAC 12), with pre-emergent action. Together with metribuzim, the product should increase the control spectrum, especially for goosegrass and Amaranthus sp.
The information was presented by Rodrigo Nuernberg, leader of the Center South business unit for crop protection at Bayer, during the Show Rural Coopavel 2025.
"Due to its active ingredient with mechanisms of action that are unprecedented in Brazil, this formulation (diflufenican and metribuzim) will be essential for resistance management. Furthermore, it is part of one of the fastest growing segments, which is pre-emergent,” explains Nuernberg.
For insect control, Bayer is preparing to launch the active ingredient spidoxamat (CAS 907187-07-9, IRAC 23). The molecule acts against suckers in soybean and cotton crops.
According to the company, in addition to controlling eggs and nymphs, it blocks the reproduction process of females, contributing to the reduction of the pest population in the field. It is 100% selective against natural enemies.
