Basf has released preliminary figures for the third quarter of 2020. Sales fell 5% in the third quarter of 2020 to €13.812 million (Q2019 14.556: €XNUMX million). This is mainly justified by the negative effects of the exchange rate.

Basf Group's operating businesses performed better than expected in the third quarter of 2020. EBIT before special items totaled €581 million, above analyst consensus but below the figure for the previous year's quarter (third quarter of 2019: €1.056 million). Compared to Q2020 355, EBIT before special items increased by €2020 million in Q2 2020 (Q226 XNUMX: €XNUMX million).

The Nutrition & Care, Agricultural Solutions and Industrial Solutions and Other segments reported lower profits compared to the prior-year quarter.
