BASF presents sustainable plasticulture at Hortitec 2025

BASF's innovative solutions for plasticulture will be on display at Hortitec 2025 in Holambra. The company is bringing its Tinuvin NOR plastic additives portfolio to the fair, aimed at the protection and durability of agricultural films used in greenhouses, coverings, mulch and silobags.

BASF is investing in technologies that respond to the growing demand for sustainable agricultural practices and the need to protect crops under adverse weather conditions.

According to Daniella La Torre, the company’s technical specialist in plastic additives, the products were developed to extend the useful life of plastic materials used in agriculture. This reduces waste, improves profitability and contributes to productivity.

The stabilizer Tinuvin NOR 356, for example, protects agricultural films from UV radiation, rain, frost and treatments with sulfur or compounds permitted in organic farming. The application extends the life of the structures and ensures protection of crops during the winter.

The Tinuvin NOR 211 AR system is suitable for environments with high solar radiation, intense heat and the presence of pesticides. Developed for tropical regions, it allows for a reduction in the use of polymers without loss of performance. In addition to being compatible with recyclable formulations, it meets the requirements of organic agriculture and circular economy practices.
