At the XVII National Seminar on Off-season Corn, BASF exposes concerns and solutions for the mosaic complex and stunting transmitted by sucking insects, such as aphids and leafhoppers, which are the biggest challenges faced in managing the crop.

“BASF works to develop innovative solutions to help farmers better manage these insects that transmit viruses and bacteria, which negatively affect the quality of the grain and the final yield of the crop. The novelty should reach the Brazilian market in the coming years”, according to João Marinho, marketing manager for the company's corn cultivation system.

With the increase in the cultivated area in recent years and climate change in different corn producing regions in the country, another challenge that has been deserving the producer's attention is the diversity of foliar diseases that compromise grain yield, in addition to the difficulty in choosing a fungicide that helps you have broad and effective disease control.

“BASF is preparing to launch efficient solutions on the market, bringing a new molecule aimed at fungal management with a broad spectrum of disease control in corn. Managing the disease complex of this crop is essential for the success of the crop”, says the company specialist.
