Faced with a challenging climate scenario, farmers must seek solutions aimed at more efficient management that contributes to making crops more resilient and productive.

As a company that partners with farmers and is present at all stages of farming, BASF presents its connected offer of seeds, crop protection and digital tools. During the 34th Coopavel Rural Show, the company highlights the portfolio that is the result of investing more than 900 million euros per year in Research and Development of new solutions for agriculture.

Technology via seed

BASF varieties are in a continuous process of genetic improvement and adaptation to the main soybean producing regions. The company has two brands of soybean seeds to better serve the farmer and the seed market.

The highlights for this edition of the Rural Coopavel Show are the Credenz RESULT I2X and 15B70 IPRO varieties. And the highlights of the Soytech brand are 580 I2X and 591 I2X.

Soybean diseases

With an eye on phytosanitary management for the next soybean harvest (2022/23), BASF has a broad portfolio of fungicide solutions. BASF's team of experts recommends that farmers plan applications to control diseases in advance, minimizing losses in productivity.

“It is important to carry out management before diseases are installed in the crop at rates that could cause damage to soybean production. Especially for the initial phase of cultivation, we rely on Aumenax as it is a broad-spectrum fungicide. Afterwards, the second application can be made with the fungicide Blavity, highly efficient in controlling the complex of soybean diseases, especially rust and target spot. In addition to spraying with the appropriate fungicide, the farmer cannot fail to constantly monitor the crop”, explains Vitor Bernardes, Senior Manager of Soy Portfolio Marketing at BASF's Agricultural Solutions Division.

Digital Agriculture

Also during the fair, the public will be able to learn about the connected offers from xarvio Digital Farming Solutions, BASF's global digital agriculture brand. Among the solutions that xarvio offers on the FIELD MANAGER digital platform, one of the best known is Digital Mapping of Weeds, carried out with the aid of a drone, which can be used in the pre- and post-emergence of soybeans and cotton for localized application of herbicides. In addition, the platform also offers information that allows the generation of maps at a variable rate for use at different times in the crops.

“Digital solutions help in making the right decision and the most appropriate time for each crop. These are services that facilitate and optimize the farmer's work, being able to increase profitability per plot and further support sustainable practices adapted to the reality of Brazil”, comments Lucas Marcolin, manager of Digital Farming Marketing at BASF.

Cultivating the Legacy

BASF is committed to the legacy of farmers. In addition to the connected offering of products and solutions, the company also presents the BASF Farm, which is the content hub for agribusiness. During the fair, you can also visit the event's virtual stand on the platform, for more relevant information that can help with your agronomic decisions.
