BASF presents new technologies to soybean farmers in Western Paraná

BASF's Crop Protection Unit conducted demonstration areas in Marechal Cândido Rondon (PR), to show soybean farmers technologies that help increase soybean productivity. During Copagril Field Day, BASF technicians were available to producers to explain the benefits promoted by the AgCelence Soja Productivity Top System. In addition, the Company also presented solutions for treating soybean seeds and corn foliar diseases.

The AgCelence Soya Productivity Top System is a unique model that combines phytosanitary management practices, from sowing to harvesting. Already in the initial phase, it is possible to notice greater vigor in the plants. In the intermediate phase they appear greener, and with more leaves and branches. And in the next stage, there is a high level of health allowing the maintenance of the plant's leaf area, more pods and the consequent increase in productivity. “The system presents unique characteristics for managing soybean crops. In addition to better phytosanitary control, the program that integrates the insecticide/fungicide Standak Top and the fungicides Comet and Opera, applied sequentially, provides a better relationship for transforming water, light and nutrients into energy and grains”, explains the BASF Sales Manager Regional Campo Mourão, Jorge Luiz Fontana.

Studies carried out in the field indicate that the AgCelence Soja Productivity Top System can help farmers increase productivity by up to 5%, around three bags per hectare. “To achieve maximum production in the field, we recommend that the producer seeks a technician and follows all procedures correctly”, warns Fontana. To emphasize the importance of management, BASF technicians presented regional management results.

Soybean seeds received special attention. Standak Top is an innovative product for seed treatment, which combines, in a single bottle, fungicidal and insecticidal action to control the main pests and diseases that attack soybean seeds, in addition to reducing the disposal of empty packaging. “BASF innovates by bringing two products in a single bottle. This translates into more security for the producer and assertiveness in the treatment. Furthermore, the product works in perfect synergy with the AgCelence Soy Productivity Top System, protecting the seeds”, highlights Fontana.

Thinking about the needs of corn crops – which are sometimes affected by foliar diseases – and cobs, induced by fungi that can considerably reduce their yield, BASF presented the Abacus HC product in the field. It is a fungicide that in corn crops is highly effective in controlling rust (Puccinia sorghi and Puccinia polysora) and phaeosphaeria leaf spot (Phaeosphaeria-maydis). The recommended dose is lower (0,25 lt/ha), compared to other fungicides on the market, reducing the disposal of empty packaging in the field.

Copagril Field Day was held on March 02nd and 03rd, at the cooperative's Experimental Field. “The event was a great opportunity for producers in Marechal Cândido Rondon and the region to learn about the news that BASF, together with Copagril, brought to ensure the productivity and profitability of farmers”, concludes BASF's Cereias Centro Sul Business Manager. , Marcelo Batistela.

Restriction in the State of Paraná:

- Only apply the requested doses. - Dispose of packaging and product residues correctly. - Include other disease/pest/weed plant control methods (e.g. cultural, biological control, etc.) within the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program when available and appropriate. For more information regarding recommendations for using the product and correct disposal of packaging, carefully read the product label, leaflet and agronomic prescription.
