BASF will participate in the Maximum Soy Productivity Challenge Forum, which takes place on June 13th in Passo Fundo (RS). During the event, promoted by the Brazilian Soy Strategic Committee (CESB), the farmers who had the best productivity results in soybean crops in the last harvest will be known.
The Maximum Soy Productivity Challenge received more than 5 thousand registrations. The award is divided into two categories: irrigated and rainfed soybeans. In the first, the national productivity champion is awarded; in the second, in addition to the national winner, farmers with the best productivity in the south, southeast, central-west and north/northeast regions are recognized.
The president of CESB, Luiz Nery Ribas, highlights that in the last ten harvests, the result presented by the champions of the National Maximum Productivity Challenge grew by up to 70%.
BASF has participated in the event since its first edition and the company's offering of soybean solutions has contributed to increasing crop productivity, some of which won the CESB Challenge.
“BASF invests more than 500 million euros annually in developing innovative solutions for crop protection. These technologies, together with correct crop management, ensure high levels of quality and productivity, which has been verified in each edition of the CESB award”, highlights Elias Guidini, BASF Marketing Manager for Soybean Culture in Brazil.
In the last edition, for example, the fungicide Orchestra SC from BASF contributed to producer João Carlos da Cruz winning the national challenge. His crop, located in the municipality of Buri (SP), reached 120 bags per hectare in the 2015/2016 harvest.
Producer João Carlos da Cruz highlights that the solutions he used, combined with the technical support he received from the BASF team throughout the harvest, contributed to decision-making and, consequently, to good productivity results.
During the event, BASF will present its complete portfolio for increasingly sustainable soybean farming. O Activum, used for the first time in the 2016/2017 harvest, has high performance in controlling Asian rust and other important soybean diseases. The foliar fungicide is the only one on the market with a triple mechanism of action and helps manage fungal resistance.
BASF will also host a live broadcast on Facebook from 15pm, with the Marketing Manager for Soy Cultivation, Elias Guidini, and the Phytus Institute researcher, Ricardo Balardin. They will give management tips to obtain high soybean productivity, in addition to talking about expectations for the next harvest.
