Choosing the best cultivar that will be sown in the 2019/20 soybean harvest is one of the challenges facing farmers. To help with this decision-making, Basf presents its seed portfolio for the first time at Tecnoshow Comigo, an event held in Rio Verde (GO) from April 08 to 12, 2019.

With a high production ceiling and medium cycle (115 days), CZ 37B43 IPRO is the company's best adapted soybean variety for cultivation in Goiás, according to Mairson Santana, Soybean Seed Marketing Manager at Basf. “The variety has excellent sprouting capacity with a high number of pods and is resistant to cyst nematodes (Race 3)”, highlights Santana.

Another launch is the CZ 58B28 IPRO variety from Credenz, Basf's soybean seed brand. For seed multipliers, the news is the ST 777 IPRO variety from SoyTech - BASF's seed licensing brand.

Herbicides

For the management of difficult-to-control weeds, the company offers the herbicides Atectra and Amplexus. Atectra is indicated for the control of broad-leaved weeds, such as horseweed. And Amplexus is an option for controlling narrow-leaved weeds, especially bittergrass.

“Both products are effective on plants that are already resistant to herbicides such as glyphosate. They are alternatives for the rotation of active product ingredients and the correct management of crops", explains Marcos Antônio Campos, Territory Marketing Manager at Basf.

The company also provides guidance on good agronomic practices so that farmers can produce more and better, aiming for long-term business sustainability. “Our commitment is to the legacy of farmers. We believe that management carried out correctly gives crops greater longevity, with assertiveness in making decisions that generate greater profitability”, adds Helio Cabral, Soy Marketing Manager at BASF.

digital services

To offer complete solutions for farmers, Basf also has digital services such as the xarvio platform, for digital monitoring of invasive plants in crops. “The service provides the rational use of resources on the property and allows for better planning of herbicide applications,” comments Lucas Marcolin, manager of the Digital Agriculture area at BASF.
