Basf holds event on hormonal herbicides in Rio Grande do Sul

Meeting brings together representative of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development of Rio Grande do Sul, scientific researcher from IAC-SP and company experts

With a commitment to promoting and publicizing the correct use and management of its products, BASF will hold an event focused on good practices for hormonal herbicides. The objective is to address the latest updates to the Normative Instructions (IN) of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development (SEAPDR) of Rio Grande do Sul.

The panel, Hormonal herbicides: update on guided sales and application standards, will feature the participation of experts to address the correct and safe use of products. The free event will take place on December 1st, at 8:30 am, with live broadcast on the internet. The program is aimed at farmers, pesticide applicators, agronomists, resellers and other agricultural professionals.

Scientific researcher Hamilton Ramos, coordinator of the Reference Unit for Technology and Safety in the Application of Agricultural Pesticides (UR), will talk about the importance of technology in the effective and safe applications of herbicides. UR is the result of a public-private partnership led by the Engineering and Automation Center (CEA), of the Agronomic Institute (IAC), an entity of the Department of Agriculture and Supply of the State of SP.

The agricultural inspector of SEAPDR – Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development of Rio Grande do Sul -, and also head of the agency's Agricultural Inputs and Services Division, agronomist Rafael Friedrich de Lima will deal with actions to support the safe use of hormonal herbicides, such as the preparation and consolidation of Normative Instructions (INs), among other regulatory measures.

BASF, which has been carrying out a series of initiatives to publicize and raise awareness about best practices in the use of hormonal herbicides, also participates in the debate with BASF's Research & Development manager for herbicides and adjuvants for Latin America, Ana Paula Meirelles Menzani , and BASF Regulatory Affairs Manager, Alexandre Bos. The company will present the industry's role in complying with technical standards and the correct use of solutions.
