The BASF and TMG Cotton Technological Giro took to the field, for the second consecutive year, the latest developments in the TMG cotton cultivar portfolio and BASF management solutions. During the month of May, on the 16th, 24th and 31st, the Giro passed through strategic regions in cotton production in Mato Grosso: Médio Norte (Nova Mutum), Parecis (Sapezal) and South of MT (Campo Verde).
At each event, cotton producers, consultants and other professionals learned about the characteristics and positioning of the cultivars TMG 42WS, TMG 81WS, TMG 45B2RF, with emphasis on TMG 47B2RF and the launch of this TMG 44B2RF crop. In addition to these, DP 1243 B2RF, a licensed cultivar, and the pre-releases for refuge areas, TMG 61RF and TMG 62RF, were also presented.
The public also attended lectures with experts to update and debate topics relevant to cotton management, such as conscious use of Bt technology, application technology for phytosanitary management of cotton, N, P, K and calcium management in depth in cotton cultivation, weed management and chemical destruction of ratoons in cotton cultivation.
Renan dos Santos, Market Development supervisor at TMG in Mato Grosso, highlights that the partnership with BASF to carry out the Technological Giro aims to join forces to bring solutions that enhance cotton productivity in the field. “Our portfolios complement each other. On the one hand, productive cultivars, with excellent fiber quality and technology (RX, WS and B2RF), and on the other, chemical products that help protect and maintain the cotton crop”, he points out.
