BASF's Agricultural Solutions Division has just raised R$420 million in a Credit Rights Investment Fund (FIDC) to promote the sale of inputs to its customers, replacing the Agribusiness Receivables Certificate (CRA).

The appeal was raised through the FIDC Opea Agro Insumos (regulation at the end of this article), where BASF transferred its receivables relating to the sale of agricultural inputs to its customers with Opea as manager and collection agent.

The operation also included Vórtx, as administrator and custodian, AFORT Luchesi, as formalization and judicial collection agent, Pinheiro Neto as legal advisor for the offer, and Itaú BBA as lead coordinator.

The amount is intended for the purchase of agricultural products for BASF customers, which include distributors, cooperatives and rural producers, at a time when these credit alternatives are gaining increasing prominence in Brazilian agribusiness.

For BASF, this FIDC offers another financing possibility, mainly for resellers and cooperatives.

“We seek to understand the needs of our customers to enable alternatives that add value to our offer of products and services. We developed this operation and took care of the entire process to provide greater ease and agility in purchasing inputs”, explains Rafael Carollo Cucco (in the photo), commercial operations manager at BASF.
