Sicredi makes R$50,6 billion available for the 2022/2023 harvest
The expectation is to carry out around 272 thousand agribusiness promotion operations in the new cycle
Banrisul launched this Tuesday (05), the largest Harvest Plan in its history, with availability of R$7 billion in credit, 35% more compared to the previous harvest -- which was also a record, surpassing R$5,2 billions then announced for agribusiness in rural credit lines.
The presentation of details, during AgroShow Banrisul 2022, held at Instituto Caldeira, in Porto Alegre, was attended by the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply of Rio Grande do Sul, Domingos Lopes; the Bank's president, Cláudio Coutinho; the institution's board and executives; producers and representatives of class entities in the primary sector.
The Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply highlighted that Banrisul was born in agribusiness and grows stronger with each harvest, with high competitiveness. “The sector represents 40% of Rio Grande do Sul’s GDP and we are valuing the lines that will encourage rural producers to carry out excellent work. Banrisul has capillarity and operates in 100% of the municipalities in all regions of Rio Grande do Sul”, said Lopes.
According to Cláudio Coutinho, the expectation is to benefit more than 50 thousand rural producers. “Agribusiness is a strategic sector for the economy of Rio Grande do Sul and we know how much the State boosts Brazil’s GDP in this segment. Therefore, we maintain our commitment to connecting those who produce, generate jobs and income to the best financing opportunities”, he highlighted. Banrisul's management has qualified agencies, with exclusive spaces to serve rural entrepreneurs, already operating in the Rio Grande do Sul municipalities of Cruz Alta, Santo Ângelo and Passo Fundo.
“In line with the sustainability pillar, present in Banrisul's new positioning, in the 2022/2023 harvest we will maintain investment lines with a strategic focus on sustainable practices. We will further encourage low-carbon agriculture, the use of photovoltaic energy and biodigesters, in addition to irrigation, which is essential, soil and storage”, highlighted the president of Banrisul.
Of the total available in this harvest, R$6,1 billion will be allocated to funding, commercialization and industrialization, while R$900 million will be allocated to investment.
“If we add what was granted in the 2021/2022 Harvest Plan to other credit lines that benefit agribusiness, our previous result reaches R$ 6 billion. Almost 30 thousand producers benefited, 65% of which were small and medium-sized producers. Growth in all aspects only confirms that we are connected to the reality of the field. For this harvest, AgroInvest Sustainability will continue to be treated as one of our priorities”, explained the Bank's Credit Director, Osvaldo Lobo Pires.
Of the total R$7 billion made available, R$1,5 billion corresponds to credit available for small farmers and R$2 billion for medium producers. In other segments, such as companies and cooperatives, the sum is R$ 3,5 billion. Since the previous harvest, Banrisul has consolidated itself as one of the banks that access equalized resources directly from the National Treasury to operate the Harvest Plan, making more resources available and thus serving a greater number of benefiting producers.
“We are dedicated to agribusiness. We will open four more Agro Spaces in the coming months, in Santana do Livramento, in August, in addition to Bagé, Ijuí and Carazinho. We have 500 thousand registered producers and we are reinforcing our teams with more specialists. We work with pre-approved limits, we work in partnership with concessionaires and we innovate with AgroFácil Conecta and Open Agro, in which the customer defines who can access their financial information to receive personalized credit offers”, announced Banrisul's Commercial Director, Fernando Postcard.
In Rural Insurance, Banrisul should expand the offer of agricultural insurance to provide greater coverage of insured crop areas in Rio Grande do Sul, as occurred in the 2021/2022 harvest. To this end, the Bank intends to invest in innovation and technology to optimize the contracting and management of insurance.
The producer couple Querlei and Andrei Cabbau, from the municipality of Miraguaí, reinforce that the support provided by Banrisul helped in building a dream. The new aviary allowed them to return to Rio Grande do Sul to live closer to their family. The Bank was also a partner in the installation of an artesian well and solar panels on the property, which allows savings on electricity. “Banrisul connected with us, with our dream”, celebrates Andrei.
João Antonio Spenassato, from the municipality of Vila Maria, benefited from livestock funding projects to expand tilapia production in greenhouses, protected tanks and a controlled environment, which is innovative for the region. The client has a refrigerator for slaughtering and processing fish on the property, also made possible with support from Banrisul.
Producers Fabio Rigodanzo and Daniel Anklan, from the municipality of Derrubadas, financed the implementation of a fertigation system, which works entirely on a slope, with no energy costs and is completely sustainable. Thus, it is possible to develop a more nutritious pasture crop for livestock and with almost no fertilizer costs. “We have achieved very good results, with the adoption of more efficient technology for production”, comments Fábio.
During the AgroShow, the Transformations and Trends for Agribusiness panel was held, with Luiz Osório Dumoncel, from 3Tentos Agroindustrial; and Fábio Pilecco, from Pilecco Nobre; and journalist Kellen Severo, who also mediated the panel. The debate addressed the role of the sector in the economy, market trends, agricultural transformations and productivity milestones.
