Closed on Saturday (10/06), the 17th edition of the Bahia Farm Show recorded a total of R$ 8,249 billion in closed deals and the visit of 100.262 people during the five days of the agricultural fair. Companies in the grain storage and inventory, irrigation, solar energy and input sectors boosted sales. The sharp drop in the global price of commodities motivated greater investment in sectors that seek to protect the product from market fluctuations and ensure greater sustainability for the business.

The contribution of R$ 2 billion in credit linked to the dollar, launched shortly before the Bahia Farm Show, and the unprecedented number of 412 exhibitors, compared to the 360 in the last edition, enabled the fair to reach a record volume of business, surpassing last year's R$7,9 billion.

Despite the caution in investing more robustly, due to the drop in prices in the agricultural market, the president of the Bahia Farm Show, Odacil Ranzi, believes that the rural producer is, above all, obstinate, as he continues to believe in the land and its business, regardless of any external factors, whether economic or political.

“Once again, farmers honored Bahia Farm. Companies were able to present the best in technology for the next harvests, with the aim of making crops even more productive and sustainable. The farmer acted strategically, given the situation, investing in storage equipment, irrigation and input technology to plant with a focus on productivity and greater yield gains. We are extremely happy to be able to provide in one place the conditions for farmers to make the best decision, promoting the development of their business and the entire production sector”, he states.

With an eye on the next edition, the Bahia Farm Show sees more growth given the interest of 158 new companies already in line to exhibit their technologies, services and products at the agricultural fair. “We've barely finished this edition, and we're already thinking about the next one. We should increase the area of the complex to better serve exhibitors and welcome visitors. We grew around 50% in the last two editions, and we will continue to advance”, says Odacil Ranzi.

Regardless of the numbers and results, the vice-president of Bahia Farm, Moisés Schmidt, congratulates the board, employees and collaborators of the Association of Farmers and Irrigators of Bahia (Aiba), the entity organizing the fair, for maintaining the level of excellence of the event.

“We held an organized fair, with an increasingly beautiful structure and with exhibiting companies that believed and invested once again in the event with stands that attracted and surprised the visiting public. The Bahia Farm Show is a space for everyone, not only for producers to buy, but to learn about modern technologies, participate in lectures and debates that influence their business, interact with exhibitors, bring family and friends. It’s an open fair for everyone to really get to know the agricultural sector”, he reinforces.

The 17th edition of the Bahia Farm Show was held by Aiba, with the support of Abapa, Fundação Bahia and Assomiba, and was sponsored by Banco do Brasil, Banco do Nordeste, Caixa Econômica Federal/Governo Federal, Banco Original, Bradesco, Sicredi , Sicoob, Santander, Desenbahia, Government of Bahia, Neoenergia, Luís Eduardo Magalhães City Hall, Senar/Faeb and WP Agro Empresarial. The next edition of the Bahia Farm Show is scheduled for the period from June 11th to 15th, 2024.
