In addition to the agricultural machinery and equipment, which impress with their size and modernity, the Bahia Farm Show 2019 will also be marked by the dissemination of knowledge and the debate on important topics for the development of the agricultural sector. For five days, between May 28th and June 1st, the Bahia Farm Show Complex will host a diverse and current program with 35 lectures and debates to meet the demand and desires of farmers, farm managers and technicians, researchers, consultants, students and professionals directly involved in agribusiness in the area covered by Matopiba (agricultural frontier that comprises the states of Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia).

The program for the 15th anniversary commemorative edition officially begins on Wednesday (29) with the traditional “Fórum do Canal Rural”, from 14 pm to 16 pm, broadcast live, which will debate the topic “Direct Planting as a Vector of Sustainable Agriculture” . The Association of Farmers and Irrigators of Bahia (Aiba), the organizing entity of the Bahia Farm Show, will bring, in an unprecedented way, in its commemorative edition the “1st Women in Agro Seminar”, which will be held on Thursday (30), at 14pm, in the Fundação Bahia auditorium, whose vacancies have already been filled. On Friday (31), it will be the turn of a lecture with a personality and supporter of the Brazilian agricultural sector, the former minister of agriculture and agronomist graduated from Esalq/USP, Roberto Rodrigues, who will bring all his “expertise” to explain about “Cooperativism for Agribusiness Development”. Rodrigues is also a special ambassador for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO/UN).

The activities will be distributed in three spaces within the Bahia Farm Complex, in the Fundação Bahia auditorium, and in two others located in the covered pavilion, with capacity for 40 and 60 people. On the opening day, on Tuesday (28), the The agricultural fair once again hosts a session of the Legislative Assembly of Bahia (Alba), which will allow the demands of agriculture, mainly from the West of Bahia, to be brought closer together with state deputies. The event also hosts the “Soja Plus Seminar”, organized on Thursday (30) in partnership between Aiba and Abiove, which will reinforce the importance of grain classification for rural producers; and the 6th Agronomy Week at the State University of Bahia (Uneb). Topics of direct interest to the farmer such as Funrural, Incidence of ICMS on energy bills and Legal Document for Rural Properties are also on the agenda of the agricultural fair.

For the Bahia Farm Show coordinator, Rosi Cerrato, the program of lectures and debates has strengthened and grown over the 15 years. “Today, it is impossible to think about the fair without these spaces for discussion and interaction, which also consolidates Bahia Farm as a great disseminator of knowledge for the agricultural sector. Many people take advantage of this moment to establish a network of contacts and exchange information to contribute to the development of their business in the field,” she says.

Topics such as “Soy and Cotton Pricing”, with consultancy INTL FCStone; “Leadership and Purpose in Family Succession”, with speaker Marinho Hermes, from Dale Carnegie Trainings; and “Security in the Field” with the Colonel of the Military Police of Bahia, Paulo Uzêda. To access the auditoriums and visit the fair, an entrance fee of R$ 15,00 is charged, 20% of which goes to Hospital do Oeste, within the “Ingresso Solidário” project. The official schedule of lectures and debates for Bahia Farm Show 2019 can be accessed directly on the website: https://bahiafarmshow.com.br/grade-de-palestras/
