Embrapa launches four soybean cultivars for Central-North Brazil

Cotton sowing begins today in the state's Southwest region in Bahia and the rains that fall in most of the producing municipalities that make up the region favor work. For the 2021/2022 harvest, the forecast from the Bahian Association of Cotton Producers (Abapa) estimates that the planting intention is around 9% more than the consolidated figure in 2020/2021, of 266.662 hectares. This decision is directly linked to the consumer market and is influenced by the input sector.
In the southwest of the state, a region that cultivated approximately six thousand hectares in the last harvest, sowing begins on November 1st and continues until February 10th. The municipalities of Brumado, Caculé, Caetité, Candiba, Guanambi, Iuiu, Lagoa Real, Livramento de Nossa Senhora, Malhada de Pedra, Palmas de Monte Alto, Pindaí, Rio do Antônio, Sebastião Laranjeiras, Tinhaçu, Urandi, Bom Jesus da Lapa, Carinhanha, Igaporã, Malhada, Muquém do São Francisco and Serra do Ramalho. Part of the West region, formed by the municipalities of Baianópolis, Wanderley and Campo Grande, begins sowing on the 11th and should complete this stage on the 10th of February.
In Western Bahia, the cerrado area that holds most of Bahia's production, with just over 261 thousand hectares in 2020/2021, sowing is expected to begin on November 21st, with completion scheduled for November 10th. of February. This area is made up of Cocos, Jaborandi, Correntina, Santana, Barreiras, Formosa do Rio Preto, Luís Eduardo Magalhães, Riachão das Neves and São Desidério.
